3 -STAR - This sedimentary rock has many effigies on both sides.  It is from the Piedmont in North Carolina. Sections of the stone's artwork illustrate men and women Another view shows a dog-like head with a human body fully clothed. The entire stone is covered with illustrations. Use a magnifying glass to view the micro art showing men traveling or working. View this in a 50% lighted area (roughly) and at arm's length or more.

Keep in mind that viewing these illustrations so vividly is with a camera.  Over time paintings fade. Cameras capture lights and darks that our naked eyes cannot.
